Nike Response

I found the article very interesting; in the sense that his first language was drawing since he was dyslexic. He came to the realization that he focuses and listens better when his hand is busy. He would just gesturally move his pen, and a general idea would come out of it. I personally really like the fact that he is rarely ever at his desk; he's always up and about trying to engage with the creative group. I found it very interesting that the designers came up with an experiment to marry real/fake grass to the bottom of your shoe as a representation of where they could potentially take cushioning; how could they get the feel and sensation of running on grass.

One Point Perspective

Rethinking the way we sit down Response

I found the video pretty interesting. I found it interesting that when he started designing chairs, he started with loose ideas, workplace, those who use office chairs, something that is not interfering with their work. He felt as though the chair should do as much for them, so that way they don't have to fuss with it. He took the idea of the standard office chair and elevated it to a level of unknowingly messing with controls you can't see, to balancing your weight against the force required to recline automatically. This chair transfers the amount of force required to recline in a way that you don't have to look for something to adjust. He took the idea of the chair and changed it into something that wasn't meant to annoy you but adjusting it constantly; his goal was to make the working individual lives better.

How To Ruin a Great Design response

In my opinion, I feel as though the article was very interesting. I have always noticed how road signs are meant to stand out, catch our attention; however I have never noticed an inconsistency within them. With new technology, road signs should be consistent; the standards of a visibly appealing design should have some standards and not just thrown together.  Every design should be checked multiple times for correctness, attractiveness, and overall quality. Many companies after the years believe they need to "refresh" their brand by changing their logo. When in reality the logo is just fine, and it is within the company that they may need some refreshing.
